asterisk-oh323 adds H.323 support to the ASTERISK soft PBX. It does this
by interfacing the OpenH323 library to ASTERISK through a loadable
module. The package provides the channel driver as well as a wrapper in
a shared library form. It is able to initiate and receive calls to and
from H.323 endpoints, and has been successfully tested with the H.323
terminals on the OpenH323 site (ohphone, openphone), GnomeMeeting,
Microsoft NetMeeting, Cisco routers, H.323 Snom phones, and other hardware and software H.323 IP phones.

This version includes many stability fixes, automatic gatekeeper re-registration, and correct updating of the DIALSTATUS variable. A new build option enables the generation of a channel driver that has statically linked the OpenH323/Pwlib/oh323wrap libraries.
This release fixes the call indications (RINGING,
BUSY, etc.) for the H.323 channels. Additionally,
it fixes the setup of the OH323 channel variables
(such as remote IP address and remote application)
for incoming calls, enabling the implementation of
user-specific authentication mechanisms.
The usage of multiple codecs was fixed and a certain codec can
be selected on outgoing calls through the dialplan using a
special channel variable. An experimental call rate limiter was
included, which can improve the stability of the driver under
conditions of high call load.
