Project Release Information
This release corrects a potential exploit against the Windows server, which was not fully patched by the 1.5.11 release.
This is largely a security bugfix release which fixes a potentially
exploitable bug in the Windows server when running as an NT service.
This is largely a bugfix release, fixing a server DOS and some minor
bugs in the textmode client.
An annoying crash bug which occurred when the "drop" button was pressed has been fixed. The text-mode client now deals better with screens that aren't 80x24.
A default set of sounds is now provided. The Windows and GTK+2.0 builds now have fairly complete Unicode support, and a native look-and-feel is now adopted on Windows XP systems.
dopewars is a UNIX rewrite of the MS-DOS program of the same name, which in turn was inspired by John E. Dell's "Drug Wars" game. You have one month to buy and sell drugs on the streets of New York, the aim being first to pay off your debt to the loan shark and then to make a fortune. And if you have to shoot a few cops in the process, well... The game includes TCP networking allowing you to meet (and shoot) other human drug dealers. Computer drug dealers are currently in development.
