Project Release Information2008-12-24 21:10 A native 64-bit port for x86-64 was added, which, by default, uses CPU emulation for V86 mode, and runs DPMI code natively. For a first time boot with FreeDOS, DOSEMU now boots without any user interaction, and presents a welcome screen. The ability to reboot the DOSEMU virtual machine using Ctrl-Alt-Del was added. Run-time plugins are used to allow binary distribution without depending on all libraries. GCC 4.x compatibility bugs were fixed. Code speedups and bugfixes were made. 2004-08-30 06:45 Many backported codes were added, including bitmap font support for xdosemu. Via-Unicode translations for filenames were implemented, and the hogthreshold code was reorganized. All warnings with GCC 3.4 were fixed and compilation problems with Fedora Core 2 headers were corrected. cp895 and bg-mik character set support was added and many VGAEMU bugs were fixed. "Fast" I/O ports above 0x400 are now allowed for kernels. A better implemention of VxD hooks for WinOS2 was included, and NPTL issues when switching VCs on the console were fixed. 2004-01-19 01:12 This release fixes many bugs (including security-related issues if DOSEMU is suid root) with respect to the previous stable release. It has easier configuration and installation from source, Unicode support, joystick support, fullscreen support in X, xterm mouse support (including Putty), large file support for file locking, and shows the running DOS program in X and xterm title bars. Many improvements were made to the DPMI support, sound support (SB16/Midi), VGA emulation in X, console support, networking(TUN/TAP), PIC emulation, terminal support, and I/O performance. 2003-07-06 06:43 In this version, lots of bugs were fixed, and many new features added, including fullscreen support for X and an improved CPU emulator for VGAEMU. 2003-03-27 09:11 X font handling and other issues in the dosemu script and make install were fixed. A vga11x19 font was added, some minor manpage and documentation fixes were made, and the makefiles was fixed. Debug output now goes to ~/.dosemu/boot.log by default for dosemu.bin. $_dosmem is now allowed in ~/.dosemurc, and a warning is given if more than 640K is used for X or console graphics. midid is now installed by default. Compiler warnings in msdos.h and comcom.c were fixed, as was a freeze when Ctrl+Alt+Pause is pressed when $_rdtsc=(off).
