NPI support (used with newer version of REMITT), initial superbill support, enhanced billing logic and better billing behavior, a DHTML viewer for Djvu documents, additional community documentation from freemed.info, many bugfixes, and incremental module improvements.

Improved REMITT error reporting. Rebilling for keys now uses the improved interface. Additional fields. An improved adjustment calculation interface. PDF compositing routines. Moved to Agata 7.6 reporting engine (no longer using the unmaintained fork). An Upcoming Notifications report. Rules support. The procedure module now handles up to 3 codes. A charge calculation bug and authorization checking have been fixed. DHTML booking from provider week and day views. Group calendar drag and drop appointment management. Atomic scheduling capabilities have been added with the work lists front page module.

The internal TRAC system is being used for bugs
and tickets. REMITT billing fixes (v0.3.1) were
made. Translations for Japanese, French, and
German were added. PDF form templating was added.
The scheduler changed to use 5 minute increments.
Djvu handling was improved. Critical bugfixes were
made.

This release added a security RSS feed and reader for users registered at freemedsoftware.org. An XML-RPC remote code injection vulnerability was fixed.
Message tagging now keeps the user in the correct location. An extra screen that Quest sometimes uses is now handled. In Sliding Fee Scale, working bugs were fixed and display fixes were made in financial_demographics and patient_information. An initial interface was provided for viewing labs.

PEAR and phpwebtools were bundled. A French
translation was added. The authentication system
was made pluggable. New features include a Quest
Diagnostics HL7 interface for importing lab data,
FQHC sliding scale support, message "mailboxes",
secure data warehousing, labs/lab results modules,
HL7 R01 handling. Verification of authorizations
was fixed. An insurance company without REMITT was
fixed. AJAX widget and annotation/tooltip display
fixes were done. Other minor bugfixes were made.

Project Description

FreeMED is a Web-based medical records (EMR) and patient management system with a printing system, patient scheduling, an HL7 interface, a billing system, XML-RPC Web services, and many other features. It has an extensible modular architecture, allowing it to be customized based on individual practices without having to rewrite core components of the system. It is HIPAA compliant.
