Project Release Information
More options can be set in LAN/NET games. An abort
during a multiplayer game with a player in lowest
graphics mode was fixed. Internet servers are
listed much faster now by using parallel
discovery. The ability to record and replay games
was added. The ability to save frames from records
was added to create high quality videos of games.
Geolocalized nicks are used in the server lounge.
This release should fix all the bugs encountered in 2.0.0 (all reported aborts should be fixed). A few interesting small features have been added.
A new 1-player multiplayer training game mode was added. Network (Internet) games with up to 5 players are now supported, with the ability to transparently handle players behind NAT. LAN game is similar to network game, except that no connection is made to the Internet. The graphics were revamped and include 3D-based smooth penguin eye candy. The intro and 1p music were redone as fully digital productions. Joystick support was added. Recording and playback of games with non-predefined levels was implemented along with real-time graphical effects in the menu screen and anti-aliased and localized messages.
A level editor has been added, the single player game now comes with 100 levels (instead of 50), all the graphics have been re-designed, and the two player game features the chain reaction mechanism as an option.
New features include the ability to disable sound
or music independently, playlist support,
on-the-fly fullscreen toggling, and special
bubbles for color-blind people (-cb option).
Bugfixes were made for music toggling and for the
absence of the highscore screen when all levels
have been finished.
