Scorched 3D is a modernization of the classic DOS game Scorched Earth ("The Mother Of All Games"). It incorporates a lively three dimensional landscape that includes animated jets, naval vessels, water, and even birds, in addition to detailed tanks and projectiles. Other enhancements include LAN and Internet play and music.

This release implements some of the more popular game mechanics on the new game engine. Players can leave and enter spectator mode at anytime, shot limits can be set for games, and player positions are visible when buying. This release also allows players to join and leave games without having to quit the game.
This release fixes a few server side bugs and adds a whole raft of new options to the client, including adding tank and particle reflections to the water. The in-game chat has also been improved, now having a movable cursor and better editing support.
