This release adds several new commands, such as
"@euro", "@abbr", and "@slanted". HTML output of
makeinfo has been enhanced for backward and XHTML
compatibility. Docbook output now recognizes more
image formats. texi2dvi has a new option
"--recode". The texi2pdf script has been added for
convenience. Some build enhancements have been
integrated.

This release fixes a bug in 4.4 which prevented compressed info files
from being found. It detects sys/ptem.h on Solaris.
