Sidecars are now XMP instead of .dt. libraw was added with dcraw 9.05. Plug-ins of darkroom mode are now in groups. There are new darkroom plug-ins: zone system, relight, graduated neutral density, and watermark. Changes can now be saved into named processing styles. Custom shooting settings can be added in tethering mode. An initial user manual was written, available in English, German, French, Dutch, and Swedish. The XDG config file standard is now used. Language support now includes the following locales: ca, cs, de, es, fi, fr, gl, it, nl, pl, ru, sq, and sv. Image import now works on directories recursively.
This features a tethered shooting mode and the ability to import images from a camera via gphoto2. New and improved plugins were added for vignetting, velvia, grain, denoise, color transfer, channel mixer, picasa webalbum upload, straighten tool, perspective correction, and guide lines. New demosaicing algorithms include dcb, amaze, and vcd. Speed enhancements were made. Nine languages are supported: German, English, Spanish, Finnish, French, Galician, Dutch, Russian, Swedish. There is now a film strip view in darkroom mode for quick image switching. All darkroom modules now come with a customizable preset system with automatic application to matching images, selected by EXIF.
This is another feature release. It comes with newly introduced image tagging, flexible database queries by EXIF and custom tags, a powerful color zones plug-in to selectively alter only some colors, and a French translation. New raw formats are supported through libraw 0.8.5. There is a completely new and simplified light table mode layout, namely the file manager layout. Additionally, there are countless small new features, such as fixed aspect ratio and horizontal/vertical flipping in crop module, spot auto exposure, highlight reconstruction, white balance presets with fine-tuning, etc.

Minor feature additions, Mac OS X package
Some dependencies have been made optional, so now a Mac OS X package is available. There are also some minor feature enhancements since the 0.4 release for Linux.
This release comes with many new features, such as lens defect correction (lensfun), internationalization (Russian and Swedish translations), backup files for image editing history and tagging (.dt and .dttags) apart from the database, gconf preferences handling, lighttable mode plugins, libraw 0.8.4 and a low-level option interface from dt, color filter-based monochrome conversion, more sophisticated white balancing, core database layout prepared for the tagging system (to come in 0.5), many bugfixes, and many GUI tweaks and presets.
