PynamicD is a client/server interface for
manipulating secondary DNS servers. It is designed
as a lightweight interface which could be used
from the command line, inside a shell script, or
from a Web interface. The pynamic client connects
to the pynamicd server, which rans on the
secondary DNS server and provides the ability to
add zones, delete zones, and conditionally restart
the DNS server. It uses blowfish encryption with a
pre-shared key and maintains a list of allowed
clients. Tests are done to detect duplicates and
configuration file corruption. It also features
checks for locks held by the vi editor.
