A nasty /dev/ptmx permission bug when running as root was fixed. A few features useful for when running as root were added, including changing UID and GID, chroot, and setting specific permissions on the pty.
In this release, more portable pseudo-TTY code now allows
interceptty to run on newer Linux kernels, OpenBSD, and
Solaris, and will make it easier to port to other platforms.
This version adds several new types of backends and
frontends. New backends include a network client, Unix
socket client, the input and output of a program, or directly
using file descriptors prepared by a cooperating program.
New frontends include a network server, Unix socket server,
or directly using file descriptors prepared by a cooperating
program. The Unix socket server is compatible with newer
versions of VMware.
A fix for a problem with an incorrectly parsed command-line switch, a number of cosmetic changes, and a fix for an incorrect copy of license file COPYING included with older distributions.
