Passwords are no longer retained in memory by mistake. PSCP and PSFTP now honor nonstandard port numbers in SSH saved sessions. Fixes were made for spurious "Access denied" messages on GSSAPI authentication failures, for a file handle leak in Pageant, for a crash when saving a session, for misplaced underlines, and for incorrect vertical offset of VT100 line drawing characters.
This release added support for Kerberos/GSSAPI authentication in SSH-2, the zlib@openssh.com SSH-2 compression method, OpenSSH AES-encrypted private key files in PuTTYgen, and compilation with GTK+ version 2. Crypto and flow control optimizations were made. Several minor bugs, some long-standing, were fixed.
PuTTY now supports IPv6, xterm 256-color control
sequences, wildcards and recursive file transfer
in PSFTP, and keepalives in all operating systems.
A number of small bugs were fixed, security was
improved for SSH2, and port forwarding can now be
reconfigured mid-session.
